    Pros

Great environment - friendly employees and beautiful office. Everyone is always approachable willing to help you out in a tough situation.

    Cons

Management is very secretive and not open about what's really going on. Not very much growth opportunity, even though they will promise you it's coming when it's not.

Also, no work-life balance. Flexible schedules and working from home was frowned upon.

    Advice to Management

Be more upfront and available to your employees. Instead of focusing on seniority and red-tape, focus on encouraging employees by providing a clear career path. I have seen an increase in turnover over the years.

    Pros

    Good work environment and peers

    Cons

90% of the work was done by systems in all teams and remaining 10% was adjusting faults in the system or formatting of files that the system could not do.

I have been working at Nomura Holdings (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good learning opportunities.
    Working environment is good.

    Cons

Extremely low pay scale. Call centres pay more then what Nomura is paying.
No growth opportunities. You have to fight for promotions. Your work is not considered at all.
Useless solutions for problems from management.

    Advice to Management

Management treats employees as labors. They want to become one of the best player in industry, but not ready to pay a single penny to employees or to spend on systems.

I have been working at Nomura Holdings full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Many Ops and IT processes supporting the regions are carried out here - although difficult to move around a lot, one can get a good exposure of the support teams across products and lines of business.

    Cons

Nomura as a firm is in a difficult situation of losing shareholder confidence; the Lehman acquisition was not a good move. It has cost the firm 5 years and a lot of wasted time and effort (in trying to make erstwhile lehman employees work like japanese do).
Today, the India (Powai) office has about 3000 employees who support globally shrinking businesses. It is a good place for freshers to come in and learn how an IB works, but for experienced folks, there is limited growth.

    Advice to Management

None as you know what's going on but you choose to ignore it.
