    Disapproves of CEO

    I worked at Norbrook

    Pros

Some good people to be found.

    Cons

Its the good people that don't get promoted, you have to be in managements inner circle. If you're good at your job you'll not get the recognition, your senior will

I have been working at Norbrook full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

None, unless you live in or near Newry and there are no other job's available.

    Cons

This place is shocking. The CEO arrived three years ago with a plan to turn around many years of under-investment. They have invested millions in kit and buildings. Productivity is still very bad, customers are continually let down and much of the product does not comply with regulations. The CEO always looks for a victim and has created a climate of fear. There are many good people who work hard, but still they are... bullied.

    Advice to Management

The management team should stand up to the CEO, but they seem to live in fear. The owner's seems to have no idea about what is going on.

    I worked at Norbrook full-time

    Pros

Meet plenty of good people, nice canteen food if not repetitive but cheap. Get plenty of experience quickly and especially true for the departments that are really short in staff.

    Cons

Bad management (namely in thermometric validation department) as there is constant pressure put on for your time management and performance. Highly stressful and pressurising job with a very high demand. If on salary you don't get extra pay when you stay late to work nor your time back fairly with no appreciation. You are even expected to work later in order to finish what work was given to you for the day.... Excessive complaining in the office. Bad working atmosphere.

    Advice to Management

Be nice to the employee and not go behind their backs to complain about them to someone else. Stop excessively putting pressure on the employees to do better in their performance when they are already working hard. Pay them for over time or give time in lieu fairly without having to inform manager every single time you plan to stay late. Try and create a nice working atmosphere for your employees as a happy worker... is a productive worker.

I have been working at Norbrook

    Pros

Good experience. You can learn a lot. Fast paced culture. Good people. Moderate pay.

    Cons

It does not value employees, there's a certain lack of interest on what employee has to say. There is no room to grow. No work-life balance.Poor leadership; overly bureaucratic and political.

    Advice to Management

Implement open door policy, be considerate to your employee. Allow career growth. Have better time off policies to give some work-life balance. Understand that people have a life outside of work.

I have been working at Norbrook full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Variety of analysis you will get experience quickly and responsibility. good people. very good pay

    Cons

Flexibility of holidays you get enforced holidays at Christmas and Easter this is up to 11 days where you will have to take the holidays, only parade day and St Patricks day is the only bank holiday you will get off. you get two weeks off between June and September, you can take them concurrently or take a week off here and then. (however pointless if you have to tell your holidays in December).. this is only con I... really think there is.

    Advice to Management

Flexible holidays should be just that, Flexible, when you want to take the holidays (understandable at Christmas time though)
