I worked at Nordex full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Due to lack of structure (could be con) ambitious people can gain advancement relatively quickly by filling and creating positions for themselves. - Opportunity for international travel to work on larger projects. Ability to work with colleagues internationally with little to no red tape. - Top of the line health benefits and generous PTO packages. Chicago office culture very relaxed, friendly and casual. - Wind industry is a really challenging industry but also relatively new and exciting to work in with a very strong network.

    Cons

    - Very little room for advancement unless you want to be based in Iowa, as people leave Chicago, office positions are being filled there. Very averse to remote work. - Diversity is extremely poor with little to no representation of women, other races or nationalities in the company unless expats. - Training and development opportunities are pretty much non-existent and any self-improvement/career development needs to be done on your own time and dime. - Wind industry is overall unstable and causes many swings in the business which can be very stressful for the companies involved. - Poorly executed merger resulting in the global fallout of many longtime, talented employees.

I have been working at Nordex full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Decent 401k, PTO, overall benefits package.

    Cons

Poor project coordination, company forecast, failed global strategy. Safety comes last and you are encouraged to violate safety protocol when deadlines are approaching. This has been more apparent with the Acciona merger with Acciona management in charge.

I worked at Nordex full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Highly collegial, global viewpoint with German flavor. Dedication and high performance expected but rewarded. Embraces German value of teamwork over individualism. Highest ethical standards, no tolerance for anything else. Senior Execs treat colleagues with respect. Pride in the product; their wind turbines are of the finest quality. Great place to work.

    Cons

Heavy competition from other manufacturers and low natural gas and oil prices.

I have been working at Nordex

    Pros

Employees are committed, intelligent, knowledgeable. Good and kind in dealings with others. Collaborative approach. "Get it done" mentality encourages creativity and opportunity.

    Cons

New management in Germany is ineffective, unfamiliar with American markets, short-term thinking and poor communicators and planners. Bad strategies based around increasing centralization.

I have been working at Nordex full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Pays well, nice PTO and benefits, teamwork driven environment, friendly, management encourages a good balance between life and work, really fun and smart people. Management recognizes the input of all employees. Really great well rounded experience. The company is still growing and it was exciting to be a part of it.

    Cons

Foreign employees are given preference. HR department is subpar and I never had a feeling that they would help me in a time of need. They royally messed up on a few situations with other employees. And certain employees are not held accountable for their mistakes. Not a lot of room for growth beyond a couple years for many employees at the Chicago office due to lack of middle management.
