Pros
Pay (you can make over $1000 in a single day with the right claims and work conditions) Health Insurance Railroad Retirement Work is not super complicated
Cons
Managment is terrible. Corporate culture places profits above all else. Lax safety standards, expediting freight over the safe ways. No set schedule/on call 24/7/365 away from home (through freight service)

Pros
Pay and benefits are second to none. If you love to always be traveling, this is the job for you. Advancement opportunity is there.
Cons
Always traveling. Working long shifts and on call 24/7 365. No home life at all. Constantly moving if you want to be promoted. No chance for spouse to have a stable career.
