I have been working at Norman Regional Hospital Authority full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Norman Regional is my new employer and seems to me to have an extremely valuable ethical and moral standpoint I look forward to working with them

    Cons

The only con that I have with this job is that it is more than 30 miles from my home but as of now I am traveling 48 miles daily one way so this will not be too much of a stretch

    Cons

Staffing is always seeming to be low.

I have been working at Norman Regional Hospital Authority full-time

    Pros

Five words have to be entered here.

    Cons

TG Should NOT be in any kind of a leadership role because of continuous favoritism and gossip. Bullies usually run in packs. Higher management turns a blind eye to negative workplace concerns.

    Advice to Management

Hold employees to a higher standard. Don’t hire just any warm body that interviews and for the ones whom have been there quite a few years, make sure they are treating their peers respectfully and not acting like they can get away with Anything since they have a long tenure. Patient satisfaction of care will improve along with employee retention.

    Pros

Busy, but good satisfying work with adequate training

    Cons

You can lose your job over he said she said

    Advice to Management

Actually investigate complaints, don't just say you did

I worked at Norman Regional Hospital Authority full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some truly awesome surgeons and anesthesia providers. Department is pretty good about working around needing to be off early, come in late, etc. Benefits are great.

    Cons

Management is beyond clicky and plays favorites. Management does not respect a professional relationship. Charge will play favorites with employees and management allows and encourages the behavior. Management will not help when asked. Management does not discipline employees fairly or with cause. Retaliation is fair game in the Porter Surgery Department.
The HR department does NOT back the employees-when employee went to HR to file a complaint, employee was told to either suck it up or look elsewhere for a job. Employee was also told that even though what management was doing was not professional and did not follow 5x5, since it was not technically illegal there was nothing they could/would do. The HR department will also illegally disclose to future employers information that is not true.

    Advice to Management

Support your employees when they are being bullied and punished for nothing-esp when employees have proof.

    Pros

The environment at Norman Regional does not compare to any other place I have worked. The CEO somehow knows each employee by name and makes even the janitors feel loved. Since he got there he has turned the entire organization around and I have never seen the Norman/Moore Regional hospitals thrive like they do now. Great organization to work for and to be apart of!

    Cons

    Hours can sometimes be tough.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing and give the CEO a raise! He deserves it!!

I worked at Norman Regional Hospital Authority full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get to help people. There are many people there who remember why they are there.

    Cons

Unfortunately the lab is run by bullies and b/c of that their agenda becomes the guiding force instead of patient care. The turnover is so high that it can’t help but take a toll on patient care.

    Advice to Management

If the patient is who you want to serve then you have to get rid of the bullies that are making that impossible. As a business and as a patient-centered facility, you have to stop making excuses as to why the turnover is the only consistent factor you can depend on in the lab.

I worked at Norman Regional Hospital Authority full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you want to be busy, this is the perfect place for you.

    Cons

The money is not worth the work that they put on you. They continue to put more and more work on you. They will tell you that they appreciate the hard work that you do, but in the same sentence they will say that the hard work they just commended you for is no excuse for not doing the other stuff they want you to do.

    Advice to Management

You can't expect to have quality work done without the right amount of people. Giving 1 person a job that's made for 2 or more people will never work.

    Pros

Great clinic hours, weekends and holidays off.

    Cons

Not much communication from the main hospital made it to us at the off site clinic. Lots of turnover at every level.
