    frustrating at best

    Nov 19, 2019 - Field Sales Representative

    Pros

Flex time ( as long as you work 8 hrs a day) and great support within team and the job itself is simple.

    Cons

Managment doesnt listen to employees nor do they fix issues that reps have with systems often leaving them frustrated and left to do work arrounds making the job harder. Performance doesnt matter. Managers are no help yet will micromanage employees to the point that every person on my team was looking or considering new employment. You have to pay out of pocket for items needed to do your job and travel and reimbursement is extreamly slow if you recieve it back at all. I was out hundreds of dollars for items I was asked to purchase that managers would deny when putting in expenses. Manager in charge of processing travel expenses would often not approve and delay sending to accounting and do nothing for employees when voicing concerns about repayment. They pull state taxes out for states other than where they work so employees get stuck paying taxes in 2 states and never recieve money back. Unprofessional and down right degrading managment. Required overnight travel monthly.

All in all pretty good, w/ reservations

    Pros

There is a lot of autonomy. You can come up with and present your own sales focused initiatives and as long as the project makes sense, contributes to sales and growth, you track it and it has demonstrable positive results, you are usually green lighted. Management will drive you hard, but I think it's mostly because they don't want there to be any excuse for poor performance. I.e. if numbers or performance are down, it is not for lack of pushing on their part. So the job can be stressful, but that is the nature of sales. Ultimately if you can defend yourself concisely and rationally, they will be open to listening and taking into consideration. Generally if you are growing and your numbers are up, they will hold you to the same standards and expectations of everyone else. This is not a bad thing, but for those who expect special treatment for being a top performer, it is important to understand you may get some slack, but you are still expected to adhere to the same processes and requirements of everyone on the team.

    Cons

They can be hard on you. It's a tough love thing. If you have a tough time with tough love, it will be a struggle for you. Upper management can over promise and under deliver on updates and upgrades to products, new products, go-live dates, etc. i.e. They will tell you a new product, feature, sample, etc. will be available at a certain date, but it is not actually ready for another 6 months to a year. So you get your customers excited, and then spend a good chunk of time pushing them off until it's finally ready, and even then it may not be able to do all the things you were told (and in turn told your customers) it could do. The worst part is samples.... Our customers require them in order to show the product and sell them to homeowners and end users. Samples are often back logged and out of stock, and you are still expected to grow sales without being able to give your customers the tools they need with which to make and generate those sales.

World-ranked Manufacturer - High Quality Products

Jul 20, 2019 - Territory Sales Manager in Boise, ID

    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Represents one of the best vertical manufacturers in the world, certainly the best in the sector. Assumes responsibility and self-guidance on the part of non-production employees. Provides consistent quality product and innovation: the basis of positive sales opportunity. Other businesses in this sector have matured to a point of stagnation, so you get to ride a forward moving animal, rather than watching your business' fundamentals degrade over time. Ranjan Mada (not Randy King, as below) is CEO. Focus on face-to-face sales; consultative sales model.

    Cons

Marketing (with the exception of Product Marketing) is not a focus.

    Great company to work for

    Pros

Your ideas are heard and management allows you to implement your own creative ideas and processes to reach the end goals of the regional team. The success of the team is individualized as well as a team effort. Structure of the teams, processes, goals, training, and compensation has changed greatly within the past year. and for the better.

    Cons

Only recently offered additional compensation for inside sales teams, but I believe this will help greatly for the future retention and motivation of the inside staff.
