I worked at Norms Restaurants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great compensation. 5 days on 2 days off. In depth management training, always busy, attainable goals.

    Cons

Recently sold to group "outside" the family. Some upper management out of touch.

I have been working at Norms Restaurants part-time

    Pros

Nice customers, fantastic coworkers (in the morning, PM people are mean) ok food, free lunch,

    Cons

Insanely busy at all times. Required to take on more tables than is possible to do a good job with.

    Advice to Management

Give servers less sidework and less tables if you get tired of hearing complaints. Fire employees that steal.

I worked at Norms Restaurants part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's open 24/7 so you can basically work anytime. Holidays are time and a half. You get a meal every time you work!

    Cons

Not the best at fitting into your schedule. If you have a very busy schedule, but still want a little bit of side money, this isn't the place. Plus it's open 24/7 so they'll try to get you to do a lot of graveyard shifts even if you say no.

    Advice to Management

    Care for your employees

I have been working at Norms Restaurants part-time

    Pros

Great Experience! Met some really great people! 20% discount for employees and free food every time you worked.

    Cons

Won't work with your schedule. Left alone on shifts sometimes and it would get super busy. Expected to constantly be multitasking with cashing, hosting, filing, and to-go orders. WIsh we would always have 2 hosts.

    Advice to Management

    Care about your employees

I worked at Norms Restaurants full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I enjoyed working at Norms restaurants during the past 6 years. The pay was good and the customers were pleasant.

    Cons

The only downside I would say is the hours. I worked the graveyard shift which was from 9 at night until 5 in the morning.

    Advice to Management

Give your workers all the resources they need to give great service.

    Pros

Easy to bond with regular customers - they were definitely the highlight as well as a few long term servers there

    Cons

Management was a joke. Practically 0 training, chaotic atmosphere and they were for some reason tolerant and/or oblivious to extremely rude and unprofessional behaivor that was commonly displayed to a number of customers AND fellow coworkers by their own staff. No guidance. Especially if youre new to the restaraunt industry. Management preffered intimidation to communication and aside from saying goodbye to a small handful of genuinley good-hearted employees, quitting after 10 months was the best move ever.

    Advice to Management

Make your employees feel more valued. In my experience, when I am treated well as an employee, it's motivation to work hard and spread good vibes. Because the environment always felt disorganized, stressful, chaotic and lacking of support, working at Norm's was more about just surviving my shift...
