    Negative Outlook

I worked at North Arlington School District full-time

    Pros

....most of the kids are nice once they know you're on their side. Other than that not much.

    Cons

Administration has no idea how to actually support students and teachers, their focus is simply solving problems by silencing the victim/messenger, rather than dealing with issues at their root.

Also the pay scale is awful and there is no incentive to stay on in your first couple years because the pay raises barely track with COL increases. Union also couldn't nail down a new contract for (I believe) over a year. By the time I left they were still deliberating, with the teachers working out of contract.

    Advice to Management

These kids need positive role models that have their (the kids') best interests at heart, not minimizing the amount of phone calls they receive from parents.
