    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at North Central University full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Friendly environment with generally good people who care about the student experience and share a similar faith background.

    Cons

At times staff expectations are unfair because everyone cares so much about doing the best they can for students which creates unhealthy work life balance.

    Advice to Management

hire professionals that meet needed skill sets and not just advance current employees to positions they aren’t qualified for or experienced in.

I worked at North Central University full-time

    Pros

    Great, lenient and nice co-workers/staff.

    Cons

The cons of working for housekeeping was working late from 6-9PM.
Limited to 2 work early and 2 request work off per month only.
People are really bad at cleaning up after themselves, which can be stressful while working for housekeeping.

I worked at North Central University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

North Central University only positive is that it is considered a learning institution.

    Cons

Poor leadership, poor organizational structure, constant battles and internal strife, misleading employees and potential employees with suggestion that enrollment is not a sales environment. It totally is a sales environment with sales quotas.

    Advice to Management

    Quit!

I worked at North Central University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Everything is built around the very worthwhile goal of offering a great education with an emphasis on a Christian foundation. Many issues at the time are being resolved by bringing in new leadership and making the hard, but good decisions.

    Cons

Many departments are very territorial and struggle with working together - which causes many employees to try to work behind each other's back to avoid perceived red-tape.

    Advice to Management

Management is often so laissez-faire that they are then forced to take inappropriately heavy-handed measures to fix an issue (often times before they even have the whole picture).

I worked at North Central University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Fairly laid back. Lunch was inexpensive most days. Health insurance was pretty good actually. Lots of vacation time every year.

    Cons

Way too much distrust among departments. People would do that thing where they CC your boss before talking to you directly first.

    Advice to Management

Need to see that academia is changing rapidly. This school will not exist in the next 10 years unless the focus on what they do well. Amazing music program that brings in so many students and a high percentage of them graduate.
