I worked at North Dakota State University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Workign at NDSU was one of the best experiences that I had in my career. I worked 2 years and decided to leave for personal reasons. But, professionally, I recommend working at NDSU. Its passion and awareness for diversity, gender equality, and many other social issues is great. Plus, the institution clearly wants to build additional skills for you to succeed. Salary was its very competitive and the benefits are generally great in ND. People are inside and outside of the university in general decent and Fargo is a nice place to live.

    Cons

Obviously, the weather is not everyones cup of tea. It gets quite cold and chilly and winter runs quite long. But, the people are opposite, very kind, considerate, and warm. I dont know if you prefer warm weather with bad people. But, other than the weather and may be accessibility to other parts of the country, there is not much big cons about working at NDSU. Yes, they cant change the weather but they are continuously improving and striving for excellence. I feel fortunate to have worked there...

    Advice to Management

    Less red-tape please :)

I worked at North Dakota State University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

A university with unity of purpose

    Cons

Some very lazy tenured staff. Shameful abuse of a very decent school!

    Advice to Management

Not sure how to stop lazy people from abusing the university. The issue os a systemic one which can only be managed .... expensively.

I have been working at North Dakota State University part-time

    Pros

Casual, and direct job requirements. Depending on your supervisor you could be working with a really nice and professional person.

    Cons

Rather conservative and an obvious boys club with the president of the university and gov. of the state who made the largest cut in education the state has ever seen. Complete departments can be eradicated on a whim-ie student services.

    Advice to Management

    Top officials have a lms.
