I worked at North Florida Regional Medical Center full-time

    Pros

They focused on quality over quantity.

    Cons

The pay was lower than Shands but the environment was better.

    Advice to Management

The point system for the ICU does not produce the best employee morale.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at North Florida Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Smaller hospital, easy to learn and get to know staff and physicians on a personal level. When you have that kind of rapport work flow, patient care and emergencies are handled smoothly with little to no errors. It was my second home for 27years.

    Cons

There is a great turn over in staff these days. You don't know their names much less glove size or if they need a step stool or not. This brings down patient satisfaction and staff survey scores as well.

    Advice to Management

Listen more to your long term employees and perhaps you won't have so many keep leaving

I worked at North Florida Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nothing that I can think of at this time

    Cons

    Low salary.
They do not value self growth. You can be in your position for years, you will not get training or refreshers, and you will not advance.
They will notice your tremendous efforts, and they will make many promises as far as salary and bonuses, but you will receive none.
They prefer those with little experience so that they can pay them less. Once you have experience, they will do anything to try to get rid of you so that they're not paying you a lot.
This company is a business with a HUGE focus on $MONEY$. The main goal is to make as much money as possible despite any violation of any regulations or standards. For example, you could have as many as 8 patients as a nurse, despite the lack of care that you can offer your patients due to the large number of patients that you're caring for.

    Advice to Management

Management should focus on good employees so that they can keep them. Management should shift its focus a a little bit towards those on who they stand.

    Food is decent
    They have a chapel!
    Respectful of privacy
