I worked at North Kansas City Hospital full-time

    Pros

Top-Notch Residency program for new RNs. Great pharmacy benefits for employees!

    Cons

Inter-departmental communication is lacking. RNs easily get "stuck" on the floor with few transfer options. Shift differentials are less than other facilities. Administration appears tone-deaf to needs of clinical staff.

    Advice to Management

Use head-heart-head with your employees too. Treat employees like a customer at all times.

two years of experience unwinding that business included substantive experience in managing complex financials, operations, and people situations that made her a unique and desirable candidate.

    Pros

Considering the size - 3000+ employees- the culture is very tight-knit and welcoming. Most of the leadership is well respected and worked their way up. Benefits are amazing- who offers a pension plan anymore??! Also decisions are made based on what’s best for the patient, no corporatation making decisions from another state.

    Cons

Change takes a long time here due to size but also longevity of its employees. Many people have worked here for 20+ years and like doing things the way it’s always been done.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of managers and employees who can’t or won’t grow professionally
