I worked at North Memorial Health full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small company, there is not too much pro, it won't let me bypass without 5 words

    Cons

low pay, high turn-over..esp in upper management, wear too many hats and duties are enough for 2-3 people due to low staffing

    Advice to Management

increase pay, build morale, have a concrete plan that wont change when the new management comes in 1 year later

    Pros

The organization has the ability to move in the right direction with non-tyrant leadership style. The organization has allot of untapped talent and good ideas that could come from the doers if given the opportunity. There are allot of voices to be heard given the chance without the fear of retaliation or suppression of opinions. North wants to move in a direction that focuses on patients (customers), but is missing a critical component to this objective, staff! This is not the best platform for voices to be heard, but North is not an organization you can be outspoken without consequences. Be aware of subtle management techniques to suppress any feedback other than positive.
North delivers good care given the chance.

    Cons

Management is untrustworthy, one message is given, another is delivered. You don't want to be outspoken in this environment unless you're interested in a new job. Staff talent and voices are stifled and not taken into consideration. Advancement in this organization is based on who you know, not what you know! New leaders continue to pop up from outside the organization on a regular basis while leaving internal candidates shaking their heads in disbelief. If you look at the track record numbers of the new leaders have short careers at North. Leadership is forcing a new culture, not getting people to embrace it. Happy employees are much better candidates to come to work wanting to do a good job for patients and families we serve. Not the old management replies about "You should be happy you're getting a pay check".

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a clean sweep of all the tyrant / micro-managing leadership to put the organization on the right path. This hard task of self critiquing one's own leadership and management style to a more open door policy where these behaviors cannot survive. It will make the organization more attractive to new talent while embracing current staff to grow. While producing a better and healthier patient care business model. Be aware of turnover rates and ask the questions why they are what they are. Be more strategic about closing areas of the organization and plans that impact employees. This tends to show allot of instability.

I have been working at North Memorial Health full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have lots of room for improvement.

    Cons

Things happen slowly here. Changes are made (logo) and that is supposed to boost moral. Not enough employees for the amount of patients that are seen, so everyone is overworked and underpaid.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more ADEQUATE people.

I have been working at North Memorial Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

co-workers, they are the very best

    Cons

Senior Management boasts transparency and accountability however their actions speak otherwise. They push their "unmatched customer service" theory without providing us the tools to accomplish this. I thought this was a great company to work for, but admittedly I am going to start looking for something else.

    Advice to Management

Pick one direction and go with it, don't half do something and then pull the plug. You have peoples livelihoods in your hands.

    Cons

Pay is lower then what it should be for our department for everything we deal with and do for the hospital, but there are lower gigs out there.
