Pros
Great supervisor, helps balance work and life.
Cons
Not able to provide fair compensation due to inflation.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
Working in the department which I was hired has been incredible. Great communication, very understanding, and always willing to help.
Cons
Long training period, but it also gives more time to learn from your mistakes so it's a catch 22 coupled with a win win.

Great place to work with awesome comradery!
Feb 21, 2023 - Registered Nurse, BSN in Maple Grove, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great work environment! Small hospital, so we know everyone well. Doctors are so approachable and kind. Awesome comradery! Everyone is super helpful and wants you to succeed. The manager and assistant managers are very down-to-earth and approachable. Nurse travelers had assignments here and took permanent jobs on the unit. $3000 for tuition reimbursement annually.
Cons
Rn to staff ratios are 1:4-5 during the day; 5 patients can make the day super busy. A lot of patient turnover due to 1-day stay surgeries. Scheduling issues can occur but it's not terrible.

Only Directors and above make money
Mar 12, 2023 - Management in Robbinsdale, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Most clinical staff are very devoted to their patients
Cons
Management is 100% driven by cutting expenses period. There is a crushing inability to attract and retain talent and management's answer to is hire travel staff. Clearly travel staff must come from a separate budget or federal dollars. Higher management all work remote, they are never onsite, they seem completely fine watching talent walk out the door to competitors. They hang on by folks doing two jobs - till they are so burned out they leave - often without a new job. I have never worked anywhere where the C Suites are so entirely focused on one thing - cutting expenses - so they can present that to the board and retain their compensation. There seems to be no plan for how to staff tomorrow or stay afloat in the future with talent constantly leaving. To note - staff will often ask if NM or Blaze will match the salary they are leaving for and if so - they will stay. I have never seen NM or Blaze C Suites agreeing. Instead, they just say, "See ya"...

Not for new grads.
Feb 21, 2023 - Registered Nurse in Robbinsdale, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
It’s amazing to learn and a level 1 trauma center. Pay benefits are great.
Cons
The culture among nurses is one that is not healthy. They are rude to new grads roll their eyes. Make passive aggressive comments publicly. Providers as well. Your patients will be the nicest you experience. You will get locked into a year long contract if you sign a bonus or enter the new grad program. You will then have to stay an extra year or be forced to pay that money back. You will not see your family because you are a .7 or higher. You will not be home for holidays. You will not get approved for vacation in your first several years. If it’s starting to sound like an abusive relationship yet. That’s because it is.
- Former Employee★★★★★
Pros
The healthcare was good coworkers are horrible gossip too much like to lie a lot
Cons
I need to get new management fare on how to run a hospital correctly. Do you focused on money? I need to learn how to take care of the patients correctly. I was a patient and they treated me horribly I worked for them that’s terrible.

Worst EMS company I have seen in my life
Jan 19, 2023 - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in Robbinsdale, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Absolutely nothing I would say is a pro about working for this company
Cons
North memorial has hazing new hires attitude that is unprofessional, dangerous and put patients lives at risk. The Medical Direction is horrible and they won't justify the reasons why they have a strict protocols or won't let paramedics do interventions. They treat the EMT's like trash and BLS trucks aren't allowed to respond lights or sirens unless a paramedic is on board even if the hospital is closer. The work environment is very political, and they bring government political arguments against co-workers and especially new hires. The pay rate for EMTS and paramedics is the lowest around. Other companies pay way more!!. Stay away from this company!!

Feb 10, 2023 - Social Worker in Robbinsdale, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Staff is friendly and consistent. It's nice to see the same staff so often.
Cons
PTO has to be used for sick time which makes no sense working in a hospital
