    Pros

Great people to work with, great hourly wages, company as a whole seem to really want to keep employees satisfied

    Cons

Immediate supervisors don't make employees feel appreciated nor do they have good communication with employees, hours are getting cut

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to results on employment satisfaction survey. Immediate supervisor get low 2-3 rating and nothing ever changes from year to year.

I have been working at North Okaloosa Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Fast paced and busy floors make shifts fly by.

    Cons

Very little recognition by leadership. Frequent short staffing. Lack of communication from upper levels, frequent additional tasks added.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to recognize employees and make changes to lower turnover. Competitive or even comparable area wages would make a big difference.

    Pros

    Most people are very helpful

    Cons

They don't live up to the motto: community cares throughout the organization

    Advice to Management

Have less committees with leadership and consider having more meetings with mid-levels. Information does not trickle down.

    Pros

Although the management only encourages certain people to advance their position in the company, the floor staff is excellent to work with.

    Cons

Most staff nurses are not given the opportunity for growth within the company. Floor nurses are needed so badly there is little chance of leaving that position without leaving the company for a leadership position at another hospital and then returning for those positions at NOMC.

    Advice to Management

Offer broader opportunities for people with experience to advance in the facility/company. People will stay longer if they feel like they will advance with experience. Just because you need floor nurses doesn't mean you should keep people in those positions and hire outside professionals for leadership.
