    Pros

There are absolutely no pros to this place

    Cons

Everything is horrible, they are horrible with pay, underappreciated, and treated horribly. Management is a joke, one person I worked with was allowed to harass to the extreme and even raise a hand to someone and get away with it. Manager only wanted to be a friend and not manage

    Advice to Management

    get a new job

I worked at North Shore Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great salary and benefits; Newly renovated office space makes you forget you're in the otherwise unattractive Hospital; everyone else (outside Development), including departments sharing the same office space, are extremely nice and seem like they are having fun together - but don't be fooled by this. You my friend, will not be having ANY fun.

    Cons

The Development Department staff are like a disturbingly disfunctional family, with even "senior" staff so frightened of the leadership they can't make even common sense decisions on their own. When they're not desperately pasting smiles on their faces, be assured they are all making up stories about how horrible you are behind your back (to each other and to your boss) and - if you don't conform to a Yes Man attitude - are busy scheming on how best to get rid of you.

    Advice to Management

Understand your staff's job descriptions, give staff responsiibilty and then step back - they will learn more and be more motivated and proud of their accomplishments if you aren't constantly checking up/making decisions for them. Give staff real-time feedback and encourage them to give constructive criticism to their peers rather than allow (and engage in) rampant gossip about each others' performance.
