    Positive Outlook

I worked at North Star Behavioral Health for more than a year

    Pros

Professional environment with staff genuinely focused on alleviating suffering in the mental health field with superb teams of doctors, nurses, social workers, and recreational therapists serving the population.

    Cons

Sometimes the staff do not feel appreciated by the management and there seems to be little communication between management and staff.

    Advice to Management

Perhaps hiring a liaison to go between staff and management to gather input from employees regarding their individual or department's needs would be appropriate and useful.

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at North Star Behavioral Health full-time for less than a year

    Pros

High salary, relative to other behavioral health jobs in Anchorage

    Cons

-No paid federal holidays -No electronic documentation -Unprofessional recruiters -Terrible reputation around the state and behavioral health community -Client reports that the services provided are low quality and undignified

    Advice to Management

Pay people for federal holidays. Get with the times and obtain electronic record keeping systems. If you create a deadline for a prospective employee to respond, respect the deadline you created.
