    Pros

A large product offering and extensive digital products. Well known in the market. Good training and good benefits.

    Cons

There is a ton of turnover and the sales staff is on pins and needles. Very disorganized currently almost a scramble to right the ship?

    Advice to Management

Take time to listen to your staff and believe in them. Goals are set way to high for achievement. No one made money in 2015!

I worked at Northeast Ohio Media Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Able to work from home, mostly friendly people, free tickets to events

    Cons

Employees are rewarded for sucking up to upper management and being overly social, extremely cliquey, dishonest, lack of transparency, money is spent on the wrong things like new furniture when the old pieces are still brand new, company throws lavish social mixers and holiday parties then lays people off without warning, more concerned with the appearance of success than actual growth, egos run amok, becoming more superficial by the day, clicks are more important than actual journalism

    Advice to Management

As if they care.... Employees! Unionize!

I worked at Northeast Ohio Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Room to move up in the company if they like you, onsite emenities are good, some perks like tickets to shows or sports games. If all you care about is being one of the "cool kids" then by all means... because this place revolves around popularity.

    Cons

Management doesn't listen to you unless you are overly social. Too many hurdles to jump through to accomplish anything. Raises are minimal and based upon goals mainly set by your manager and how much they like you. Overspending on lavish items like a building remodel and employee parties may have contributed to them needing to eliminate so many jobs, mine included. I now have a sour taste in my mouth for any corporate company thanks to my experience with how they manage things. But I recently heard that most of management was let go as well, so that's a plus.

    Advice to Management

Recognize talent and hard work and reward it accordingly. Crack down a little on employees who spend too much time talking about non-work related issues.

I worked at Northeast Ohio Media Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Parking garage, Well lit offices, clean place

    Cons

Dying industry, top-heavy with managers, not flexible enough with the times, treats people very poorly, doesn't pay living wage, horrible open working environment, nickel and dimes employees for everything, full of cliques

    Advice to Management

Stop laying off the people who do the work and start letting the lazy managers go. Realize that newspapers, news, and advertising is dead - need to transition to more of a consulting company, that's the future.

I worked at Northeast Ohio Media Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Working at Northeast Ohio Media Group was a very rewarding experience. The creative department worked closely together to create print and digital ads and creative materials. Everyone was great to work with and the environment was professional and fun.

    Cons

Unfortunately, there was not enough work and the company made the decision to restructure and outsource the creative department duties.

I have been working at Northeast Ohio Media Group full-time

    Pros

Great potential if you love cold calling

    Cons

Lots of cold calling if you don't have any accounts to bring in. If you are given a territory you'll have some accounts, if you work open territory you need to find them on your own.

    Advice to Management

Don't forget the small businesses are a solid revenue stream to help with the key accounts

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

great location, parking garage, office is beautiful, on-site gym, on-site cafe, no other pros come to mind, medical benefit package

    Cons

Employees are respected for the wrong reasons-for sucking up to management instead of working hard. Very cliquish with quite a few wannabe hipsters with exaggerated opinions of themselves. Many inconsistencies in training, especially with other markets following different processes than ours. Micromanagement at its finest. HR is a joke. open work environment, no privacy to get work done uninterrupted, obnoxious managers and employees who stroll around thinking its social hour. Too many moving parts where all the utilized software programs are concerned. Needs to be simplified. Typical dishonest corporate culture. They will tell you one thing but watch your back.

    Advice to Management

They don't listen so why waste my time?

    Pros

Great group of employee's, making it a fun place to work

    Cons

Mgmt micro-manages - and makes it very hard to do a good job! There is a big communication problem as well.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN to what your employee's are saying and make the changes needed
