    Pros

It was very fulfilling to solve issues with actual customers and being able to react first hand

    Pros

Great benefits even after the merger when compared to a lot of other companies

    Cons

The new management structure is really inhibiting morale from being what it could be.

I worked at Northeast Utilities (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Excellent Pay & Benefits

    Cons

We would have to report to work in very dangerous storm conditions, and twice in the last 3 years employees had to stay overnight in the building with no accommodations or planning in place in the event this would occur. Field Technicians were not allowed to work out in the field due to those conditions but customer service would be required to report

    Advice to Management

Prepare better for storm emergencies and instead of jeopardizing your employees divert the calls to other centers during unsafe driving conditions. If a lineman can not work due to unsafe conditions then employees should not be required to risk injury to report to work.

I have been working at Northeast Utilities full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Comrade within co-workers is great. Company is making strides towards an improved customer engagement process. Also making cost conscious decisions for long term sustainability.

    Cons

Company still is not open to work from home, especially for technical and analytic jobs that very well may be done independently in front of a computer

    Advice to Management

Invest in technology that allows better interaction between different offices via webex, etc. Allow work from home to attract the younger workforce or growing families (w/ kids)

I have been working at Northeast Utilities as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Employees are very friendly and helpful.

    Cons

I have not worked for the company long enough, but the merger with NSTAR has brought some changes not favored by the current employees such as cuts in benefits.

    Advice to Management

PSNH has already a very welcoming working environment. Everyone seems to get along greatly. I would encourage the management to make the working environment even more welcoming.
