I worked at Northern Arizona University part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

This was my first film job working as a student worker and although $9 an hour was not a lot, this job really set my future up for success. I came across so many valuable real life experiences and was able to build my portfolio along the way.

    Cons

Working for a big corporation comes with the head ache of really long approval processes

    Pros

Company is decent to work for. Great state benefits, management that listens to you, and education benefits. Upper management is easy to get a hold of.

    Cons

Does not hire enough people for the job. Requires too much for one person to maintain. Salary could be better.

I worked at Northern Arizona University full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I was accommodated as a spousal hire, the department was great to work in, and the students were highly motivated.

    Cons

Administrative decisions seemed detrimental to the academic environment and administrators not representing faculty, especially contingent faculty, often appeared desensitized to the struggles of lecturers, instructors, and adjuncts.

    Advice to Management

Realize that not all faculty and staff are receiving equal treatment. Also, listen to students. When concerns were raised, the response of the president's office trivialized their voices.
