I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company is huge and has tons of jobs available and they pay pretty well.

    Cons

The work is pretty boring with no room for any self-expression. You have to use lots of out-dated tech because most of your work has to work on government computers that are always way behind on updates. Worst of all, you mean absolutely nothing to the company as a whole you are one of 10s of 1000s of employees. You are just a number on some other person's spreadsheet. It just so happens that these are also the people who decide what kind of raises you will get, the people who you've never met who have never actually seen your work and you are only ever have heard you talked about 3rd or 4th hand.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, and pay is very competitive. If you are good then they will fight to keep you.

    Cons

Re-organizations always stink at the beginning so leadership can be confused at first but I know they will work it out. Other than this...no cons from me!

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay was good, health benefits where good.

    Cons

Management does not listen to employees. I brought ethics violations and federal contracting violations by a sub-contractor manager to the attention of Northrop Grumman management and I was given the excuse "He's the manager" by my Northrop Grumman management. Those excuses cost Northrop yet another employee because I cleaned out my desk and walked off the job because I was not going to deal with the corrupt sub-contractor manager who was introducing risk into the government contract without government permission and making it impossible to do what I was hired to do.

Northrop black lists employees who leave under duress or other than desirable circumstances and give negative feedback to potential employers when doing an employment background check. This was verified by an associate who called NG and posed as an employer seeking to hire me.

    Advice to Management

LISTEN because you already have a 30% attrition rate in your employees due to poor management.
