I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone is very friendly and professional.
Good mix of age groups so you can learn from older people and make friends with ones your own age.
The gym has some of the nicest showers I've ever seen, better than my apartments.
    Great program and career oppurtunities.
Work a 9/80 schedule so you get every other friday off.

    Cons

The gym has no heavy weights.
Cafeteria food is less than steller.

    Advice to Management

Honestly just keep it up. I've worked at places with way worse management and the leadership here is phenominal. Very happy with my choice.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time

    Pros

I have worked at a number of companies, large and small across Albuquerque. From small local companies to large corporations and large government contractors. Northrop Grumman's Albuquerque group has been the best move I've ever made. There is tremendous room to learn and grow here (within certain limits--it is ABQ, not DC) and the support from management is amazing. The expectations here are high. Hard work, high quality and innovation are expected. But the rewards are great. The pay and benefits are some of the best in NM and the team is fantastic. I've worked with wonderful, talented people at other jobs, but the group of people working at Northrop Grumman are truly a cut above -- not just in Albuquerque, but across the company. Very happy to be working here.

    Cons

There are very few cons. I've heard of slightly better 401k matching at some places, but it's still very competitive. I've had cheaper insurance coverage elsewhere, but prices are rising everywhere (and the options here give you several affordable plans to choose from to suit your family situation). It is a large defense company, so some things move slowly and there are some restrictions due to tight security, but even with that, the local management finds ways to innovate and find solutions to solve issues. Overall I don't have much to complain about.

    Advice to Management

It's hard to manage work in a competitive, contract-based environment. Juggling dozens of projects and dozens of resources can be difficult. Balancing the needs of customers, the business and the team is critical -- keep fine-tuning that balance and you'll continue to get stellar results!

I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great training programs, lots of career advancement, lots of career switching options, some fantastic managers and co-workers. Great pay and benefits for low - mid engineers, more experienced will probably make more elsewhere. The flexible hours were nice. Very professional as well.

    Cons

Almost everything requires a security clearance. Wait times can be up to 18 months. Unclassified work is few and far between.

    Advice to Management

Most of the 'drama' of work was caused by engineering managers; but I know you are well aware of that.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Takes care of employees. Every other Friday off are nice. Pretty good pay. They take care of veterans. Job security.

    Cons

No annual bonuses. You only get a bonus if you score really high and even that is measly. It's a public company so shareholders come first.

    Pros

Everybody is great to work with.

    Cons

So many things to learn, not enough time.

    Advice to Management

Have a better On-boarding process for employees, as who to talk to, where to go for things (badge, supplies, etc)
