I worked at Northrop Grumman full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Seemed to be an organization that cared about employees.

    Cons

Truth be told. I worked for NGC three years. All they care about is filling positions for government contracts. They don't really care about quality because they do not care about matching skill sets to contract positions. This applies to project managers as well as low level managers.

And every manager has a different understanding of policy. They do not put the policy in a place where everyone can see it.

    Advice to Management

Try to care about the government contract work.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a job and a paycheck! Most employees feel this way. The company has a generous tuition reimbursement plan and a good job rotation plan.

    Cons

Absolutely no respect for rank and file employees. The VPs and above are getting super rich. Rank and file doing worse than inflation.

    Advice to Management

    Share the wealth

    Pros

Prestigious company to work at, 401K.

    Cons

Low salary, unchallenging work, lying colleagues, South Asian/Indian management that does not include outsiders. Overall a depressing place to work.

    Advice to Management

Your projects are successful not because of management but because of a handful of employees that really care and try to elevate the company. Listen to your employees who don't lie in their resumes.

I have been working at Northrop Grumman full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are some professional, courteous, collaborative people here. Unfortunately they're not managers, directors or vps. Pros are execeedingly few and far between.

    Cons

Zero investment in people/management in the last 30 years. And it shows. Promotions based on who is in the right spot, at the right time, nodding in the right direction. Culturally this company is decades behind and smart people recognize that even if they're initially duped into accepting an offer. Poor leave, below average compensation, managers who have no people skills.

    Advice to Management

Stop w the "hi pos," your managers for the most part have no external perspective and lack the ability to engage their teams. Ngc runs on people who have never worked any place else, who discourage disruption and haven't had the benefit of any modern management training.
