I have been working at Northstar Travel Group full-time

    Pros

Has all the security of corporate (benefits, structure, etc.), there's some amazing culture and people here, lots of ability to travel

    Cons

Internally there are lots of changes happening all the time which can be good but there are long stretches of chaos while a change settles. New departments are understaffed and lack support.

    Advice to Management

Invest in newer departments a bit more to reap the return later. Find some newer/better products to sell that balance effort and cost

I have been working at Northstar Travel Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Northstar is full of great employees who work hard to help the business succeed. There is generally positive morale as the traditional business has been transformed.

    Cons

There is a lot of pressure on hitting goals with not a lot of support. The market has become much more competitive and pausing to reinvent is dismissed, and the focus on sell harder.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for your best and brightest employees to grown in their careers, which can be challenging in a fairly flat organization.

I have been working at Northstar Travel Group

    Pros

Flexible atmosphere, focused on creating the best products instead of micromanaging the process. Hard work is recognized and rewarded. Suggestions are welcomed and implemented.

    Cons

Different brands under the NTG umbrella have different needs/values so needs and goals aren't always cohesive but good communication between management and staff often makes this a non-issue.

    Advice to Management

Be forward thinking. Keep listening to your staff and taking their recommendations to ensure NTG remains cutting edge.

I have been working at Northstar Travel Group full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Family oriented group. Many employee activities. Good to work with people that actually care about you

    Cons

If you are looking for money, this is not the place for you the salaries are low and the benefit prices are high. If you are looking for updated technology this is not the place for you either, it takes a while for them to catch up.

    Advice to Management

Give your employees room to grow instead of having the work be stagnant. Care more about the employees that do the everyday work instead of just the executive and sales team

Great people, hard-working, intelligent, proactive, passionate. Company is making strides to enhance brands and digital advancements. Great benefits & perks. Lots of recruiting.

    Cons

Progress sometimes takes some time; lots of work with sometimes lean staff. With 6 offices in different locations and lots of virtual employees, challenging to sometimes bring everyone together.
