I have been working at Northwest Bank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

good benefits, conservative culture, free clothing

    Cons

Northwest has no concern for the individual employee. They let people go without a thought of them as people or how long or hard they have worked for the bank. Salary is low compared to peer groups, little to no advancement opportunities. Its all about who you know not what you do. Definitely a good old boys experience. They will downsize you with not another thought...

    Advice to Management

DIVERSITY and loyalty are important. Not everyone you hire should be a white male...

    Pros

    Benefits

    Clients like NW FEEL

Not a strong sales push . Goals are not well matched
To each branch and potential .

    Cons

    Salary

    Not progressive in technology

Lack of training outside of computer based classes

Ego attitudes in Warren. It's the middle of no where with
Lots of staff who have no experience outside bank.

    Advice to Management

Wake up to 2107 and maybe a shake up in senior and executive management might avoid a buyout

I worked at Northwest Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are better than most, friendly management, easy job. You get to travel around the whole company and learn every aspect of banking.

    Cons

They won't let you switch positions if you decide you'd rather work in another department. Also Northwest uses the telephone game to pass down information. As a result branch managers are often left out of the strategic direction of the company.

    Advice to Management

Do quarterly company wide conference to go over financials and strategic direction in order to improve communication.
