I worked at Northwest Medical Center part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits for per diem and part-time employees.

    Cons

No true lead. A lot of women who all feel like they run the show. No true training. Instead of showing you how things are done there, they wait for you to perform and then give you negative judgmental feedback.

I worked at Northwest Medical Center part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The Cafeteria food is cheap and delightful, the imobile phones they have to communicate.

    Cons

Its a central unit among three monitor techs but the census are always low and it impacts the monitor techs because their only allow to approved for two monitor techs to oversee the centralize unit for 152 patients . We're required to write the heart rates of the patients along with notify the nurses of sepsis alerts every ten minutes,we have to print the patient rhythems every four house among 152 patients which means 8pm,12am,4am will be accumulated up to 456 papers being printed,we also have to fax the nurses anything abnormal or perhaps alarming.we're not allowed to notify the pcas and we're to call an cardiac monitor tech alert if the patient is off the monitor more then three minutes after notifying the nurse. The work load does not neccesary equal the pay and its an unfit work environment where the nurses are rude, nurse supervisor lack people skills and they lack expertise to fulfill the role of their actual position without using other fellow charge nurses to do their very own assignments to get them through their work shift. I never work at a place where the staff lack phone etiquette, " how can i help or Supervisor"

I worked at Northwest Medical Center full-time

    Pros

you will be working in healthcare facility

    Cons

Most definitely leadership. Not sure what their game is but they are just the worst to work for and with. they will try to stifle you. It is a pretty uptight place.

I worked at Northwest Medical Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Gives you a sense of pride, motivates you to do more with your life. It's 100xs easier than retail. Benefits are amazing. You Interact with all types of individuals. Hospital events are nice, like ice cream social. Free ice cream! Most people are nice and sociable. Great IV training.

    Cons

Low on staff, one tech for the whole hospital. Have to wait forever to get your PTO approved. Unfair scheduling. Low pay. Lots of drama! Favouritism! Management lets things slide because of the favouritism. Can never find someone to cover your shift. If full time, no flexibility at all unless you're, again, best friends with the scheduler. ALWAYS stocked out of meds, it's embarrassing. The hospital is extremely cheap. They treat the pharmacy department like the bottom of their shoe.

  10. "A lot of politics , goals were unattainable as a nurse"

    StarStarStarStarStar

I have been working at Northwest Medical Center

    Pros

Some nice staff members were friendly. Staff members would help out sometimes and lend a teaching hand but management and charge nurses did not . They were more concerned with making numbers look good on paper to the hire ups

    Cons

The charge nurses let you drown and don't acknowledge it until it falls on them . They spend too much time gossiping and texting or playing candy crush or sleeping. Ridiculous charge nurses that are lazy and incompetent.
