I worked at Northwest Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere with high tech care and small town kindness

    Cons

Staffing was a concern and workers frequently tasked to support other departments by floating to unfamiliar units

    Advice to Management

Promote from within and remodel so that older units so that all rooms are private

I worked at Northwest Medical Center full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Er staff are great and loved working with them. Doctors are friendly and approachable.

    Cons

Horrible food for staff on weekends, lowest paying hospital in the district, over worked with no help, so many unnecessary testing being done on patients. Some new directors say and do very odd and contradicting things. Never feel safe with hardly any security. They put tracking devices on all there employees without question. Made me and others feel very uncomfortable as a human beings. Overall Management cares more about income than patients. Staff care more about patients and there co workers than management.

I worked at Northwest Medical Center (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoyed working here. Management was approachable and easy to work with. The hospital was family friendly and staff treated each other well. It was easy to trade schedules with other nurses.

    Cons

Insurance benefits changed for the worse. . .Floating to other units was a necessary evil of any nursing job. Staffing could be improved on other floors to prevent floating so much.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to employees. Return insurance to previous plan. Staff PCCU well to prevent having to float there. Take some time off . . . you work too much.
