I have been working at Northwest Savings Bank full-time

    Pros

Low stress work environment, good insurance, and a pension plan. Vast majority of employees are good people which creates a friendly work environment. If you work just to fund your basic needs and extracurricular activities, or are looking to coast the last decade into retirement, you would love it here.

    Cons

Significantly below market wages, limited upward career potential, little or no professional training or development. Company is not a meritocracy, but rewards employees on how long they've been there. Highly motivated and driven professionals often get frustrated here as a result. Company has trouble holding on to promising young talent for these reasons.

I have been working at Northwest Savings Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Customer Service focus

    Benefits for Employees

Some local decision making and NW does support the communities in which they operate.

    Cons

    Salaries and no comp plan

    Technology and processes

Corporate staff feel superior to branch staff

Lack of experience in senior management outside
The talent pool from NW PA. Big disconnect
       from senior management underfunding markets
       Outside NW PA

Not open to ideas or suggestions without fear of
Being targeted as a problem employee.

Not a great place to work

I have been working at Northwest Savings Bank full-time

    Pros

Great benefits, nice people, company has a very good reputation for being a hometown bank. The still have some hometown bank attributes.

    Cons

Retail Lending is not a nice place to work. They will pile more work on you than you can handle and have no sympathy about it. A lot of changes for the bank has made job security non-existent. Northwest is turning into a large greedy bank more and more everyday.

    Advice to Management

Wake up and understand that you have great employees. You will lose them all if you continue treating them poorly.

I worked at Northwest Savings Bank full-time

    Pros

Monday thru Friday normal hours. Holidays off. Good pay. Mostly good people.

    Cons

Pay increases kind of low . Some people acted like they were in high school. Management was Wishy washy.

    Advice to Management

Pay better attention to your staff. Offer better pay increases and maybe there would be more satisfaction in the ranks.
