I have been working at Northwestern Mutual full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I love the atmosphere and culture that our office has. We have a great group of people that get to help clients every single day. I enjoy the flexibility and income that this career has brought my life. I have been able to build a team to fully service my clients and only do the things that I enjoy.

    Cons

It is difficult when you first start because you are building a business from the ground up. Once the business is going, it becomes more predictable.

    Pros

Great atmosphere, rewarded for achievements, partially commission based which motivates you to have a strong work ethic, make good money, and you have the option to be as independent or dependent on them as you need. A lot of good life coaching sort of stuff too helping you set and achieve goals and improve personally.

    Cons

If you don't close any deals you're only making $100/week but usually everybody closes at least a few
