    Pros

Location and ease to get to is fantastic. Library on site (legal) and people super friendly. No politics as there seems like so much work to be done. In my 7 months really enjoyed the culture, location and company. A lot , lot worse companies out there to work for. You arrive, inducted, all professionally, given handbooks on everything and health and safety and invited to seminars on legal, personal and other options. Some long termers (perm - very few) seem to quip how they don't like it, but that's a fear thing as they have been there too long. They would get a shock if they went to another company. Definitely the best company I have worked for. Nice work/life balance. Drop the kid and school and make up the time. Canteen on site, library, 9th floor roof garden that over looks London... Best location.. Team seems to get on and office banter and chatting etc.. Very laid back.. Linked course on how to setup your linkedin profile and training is very , very well put together...Health and safety for setting up screen, chair etc,etc... My new place has none of this and its a top investment bank.. ... Apparently speaking to the staff who have worked in other legal places. This is one of the best legal firms to work for.

    Cons

Initial process takes a long time as contracts need to be signed in the US. Just a few whingers complaining how stale it is...The majority are all happy. They would get a shock if they went somewhere else... Grass is definitely not greener. Low Salaries. Need to chase to get things done in IT, but it eventually happens...I,m not there anymore

    Advice to Management

Keep everything in the open about future plans. Re-employ me :) Market rate salaries. Service desk management needs more of a smile, perhaps time to leave ;) - Prepping my Son (hes only 6) this is the type of company I want him to work for... As a legal person.

I have been working at Norton Rose Fulbright full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pension - your contribution is matched and exceeded by 4% up to 10%. So if you contribute 6 - company gives 10.

Nice modern office but everyone is crammed in to make space for other companies to rent office space.

Good long induction period for new joiners so nothing expected of you in your first week in the company

Laptops issued so you can work from home although a lot of the document management systems are not accessible remotely

    Cons

IT is stuck in the dark ages - Windows 8 and Office 2010 in 2017!?

A lot of IT management have difficults getting on with each other professionally so there is a lot of in-fighting that slows down delivery

Staff are there one day and gone the next because the wrong person overheard them give the wrong opinion in a meeting

Too easy for those who do not deliver to hide the fact they do no work and blame it on IT management and the slow clunky systems we have to use

    Advice to Management

Remember those values about trust and respect you plastered all over the walls? Why are you not following those.

Why is it ok for senior IT management squabbling to hold up projects?

Why are your tech stack and solutions so old they are slow and useless?

I worked at Norton Rose Fulbright as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Smart people, global projects are a constant, if you ask direct questions to the right people you genrally get a direct answer. Great marketing function, fab offices and pretty interesting approach to globalisation.

    Cons

Not suited to those of a sensitive nature, law firms can be brutal and some of the partners are monstrously rude and obnoxious.

I worked at Norton Rose Fulbright full-time

    Pros

The perks are reasonable. The building is attractive although very cold. Nice new restaurant although pricey. Some of the people are friendly.

    Cons

Indifference to you as an employee and treated nothing more than a number. The management in my department was awful. No support and not at all proactive.

    Advice to Management

You need to send your managers on courses to keep them up to speed on how to manage a department. Treat individuals like they matter instead of a number.

I worked at Norton Rose Fulbright full-time

    Pros

Global law firm that does not yet have the cut-throat atmosphere of the magic circle.

    Cons

It not a magic or silver circle firm so work, clients and pay aren't always top notch. But friendly environment and people.
