I worked at Norwegian Cruise Line full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Limited cruise discounts but not free, lunch room on site, free parking, 12.50 start pay.

    Cons

Misleading job offer description does not state that you will be doing group reservations, assisting with ASD technical calls. Training is much shorter than stated and you will be taking calls unprepared for the challenges that you will be soon confronting. There are no manuals, very little cheat sheets but a tremendous amount of detail to learn. The time you spend researching will all count against you whether it's hold time, transitioning time (you must speak to your caller every 15 minutes or your qa will drastically come down) and if you put your caller on hold, you have only 3 minutes. A few of my favorite classmates quit, turn over is constant, there's always a new class on the way. My advice is stay away from this place until they get their act together, it's caused me nothing but hurt, worry and stress. It's not worth an ulcer.

    Advice to Management

It would be good for morale to hear a little more praise now and then instead of the constant criticism and speak to us more. When agents struggle with a topic, the coaching answer seems to be "we can have you side jack with someone" but the problem you may be struggling with will never even come up when listening so its just a waste of time. Let's really help those who need it instead of just pushing it off on other agents. Supervisors need to do more, the place needs re-structured so calls can be directed to the correct person who knows the answer, Universal agents have too much on their plate. Training needs to be longer and frequent re-training in certain key areas should always be there from time to time for those who need it. Help desk: don't tell agents "you should know that by now" or "that was covered in class" while agents are trying to learn, its unprofessional, insulting and rude. What happened to team work?
