I have been working at Notre Dame full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent compensation and benefits, fair, supportive of new faculty, South Bend is affordable and close to Chicago and Lake Michigan

    Cons

Religious school (makes for some conflicts with science and conservative views not in line with academia), not at all transparent (top down decision-making, very hierarchical rather than egalitarian), problems with diversity

    Advice to Management

Please try to be more transparent in decision making processes for promotion for faculty, and increase diversity efforts across the board

I have been working at Notre Dame (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good place if you are a fan of football.

    Cons

Really depends on the department and your professor. I have encountered openly abusive and disrespectfull behavior to myself from my professor.
School doesn't want do anything against and the only thing you can do is switch groups or quit.

    Advice to Management

Care about your grad students, not only football
