I have been working at Nova Measuring full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most employees are friendly, once in a while Employees organize their own pot luck bbqs at the parking lot, nice food and employees enjoy it.

    Cons

Low salaries and no opportunities to grow professionally (US branch). Management is slow in hiring and current employees have lots pressure to do more than their job to fill those gaps.
    Extremely low merit increases

    Advice to Management

They should care more about their employees and improve salaries and benefits

  3. "Illegal misclassification of Field Service Engineers as exempt from overtime. Applicants beware. No work-life balance."

I have been working at Nova Measuring full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Israeli company which means Israeli side of the company is very fast paced, very driven and straightforward. They are technically sound and logical.

    Good product support.

    Cons

Illegal misclassification of the Field Service Engineers as "exempt". The job description no where near matches what you actually do. Management on local sites is inept at best and upper management is disconnected. Local management keeps EVERYTHING from executives because they don't want to be exposed. Low morale. Site visits from Israel turn into "dog and pony shows". This company expects 110 percent at all times with no overtime. Computer based business processes are slow, although Israeli side is trying to fix this. Senior Engineers often break down and burn out from excessive workload and direct level managers claim " I didn't know you were working so much overtime". Benefits are mediocre and the insurance is no where near competitve with what other OEM offer their FSE.
Lack of knowledge-base in US. They can't attract and retain people who are good at their jobs because they abuse them. The ones that are good at their jobs and have managed to stay on board often end up overloaded and stressed to the max, doing their managers job and not having the time to be able to share their expertise.

    Advice to Management

Ditch the non performers regardless of seniority. Its not acceptable that the technically ept people are allowed to burn out while doing everyone elses job. The non hackers need to go. Get people who won't avoid responsibility and try to fleece you every chance they get.

I worked at Nova Measuring full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent pay, good recognition of performance, and a "hat rack" position. The perks that I received for accomplishing very difficult tasks included items like additional paid weeks off and vacations for my entire family.

    Cons

60 to 70 hours per week on average salary exempt. Some of the daily expectations were excessive (i.e. required to handle all first line applications solutions without any prior experience or training, manage all product testing methodologies for escalated issues worldwide, perform initial debugging of software issues world wide, and maintain all local account hardware in a field service capacity). This was why the hours per week were so high.

    Advice to Management

Don't use "work / life balance" as a catch phrase but genuinely try to give your employees time with their families. Even the service technicians were required to work an insane number of hours every week.

I have been working at Nova Measuring full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Easy work, good people, generous company, flexible hours, working remote, independent direction, internal support from the other US based FSE was outstanding, support from Israel was good but delayed from time zones.

    Cons

Their VPN intranet was painful if you needed to download documentation. Being a smaller based company you were forced to resolve your own issues, sometimes to the disgruntlement of the customer. Too many tasks left incomplete because a new priority has arrived.

    Advice to Management

Remember what people have done for you and don't hope that a face will win contracts.
