    Pros

    Good ConEd, benefits, and networking

    Cons

All about the numbers. Not patient oriented at all.

    Pros

Overall NovaCare is good company to work for. Positive work environment and team atmosphere. Decent continuing education; NovaCare has good in house courses offered; however, not willing to pay for travel to out of state courses even if they are offered by NovaCare.

    Cons

Salary is decent, but not great; annual raise is minimal. Benefits could be better; 401K company contribution is very small. PTO is not separate from sick days; if you take a sick day or two, that is taken out of your PTO hours.

    Advice to Management

Employee appreciation could be improved upon. Making employees pay for the Christmas party event (especially when it is a small ordeal) is very disappointing.

    Pros

    Great coworker, good PTO program

    Cons

Poor pay, horrible pay increases, Poor management

    Advice to Management

Stop treating grown adult employees like first graders. Pay your employees a livable wage, compensate based on merit. Lose the superior attitudes.

I have been working at Novacare Rehabilitation full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The therapists I work with are nice and the patient's are amusing.

    Cons

Once you walk through the door on Day 1 you have peaked. There is absolutely no room for advancement in this company. It is revenue-driven and numbers and quota's are more important than patient care. Very low pay for the job responsibilities that are expected. Only therapists and salaried employees receive paid holidays. PSS positions must use their own PTO, THEN they are expected to work extra hours on a holiday week to make up for the holiday the office was closed. Management promises you full-time training and support whenever needed but its is very difficult to get one straight answer when 10 plus people get involved. No positive feedback from management. The role of a PSS is vastly undervalued for the responsibilities involved. Do not expect a raise and, if there is one, it will be 1% or less which adds up to pennies for a PSS position. Long 10+ work days. Health benefits have dwindled since starting with this company yet premiums average 10% increase per year. Please, PLEASE look elsewhere for medical secretary employment.

I have been working at Novacare Rehabilitation part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As I work part-time/per diem as an administrative assistant in the SE PA market, the company is very flexible to my schedule, great employees to work with, management very responsive with timely e-mails.

    Cons

I float to different offices, management styles and day-day operations can be different depending on clinic, however majority is the same!

    Pros

Therapist are friendly. Patients are usually very nice. Lunches and breaks are provided (but not paid).

    Cons

Incompetent managers, the worse on-boarding process with training, negative morale, want employees to work over time and cover other facilities and do not want to pay over time. Do not give paid holidays. Benefits are not great. A lot of turn overs with employees.

    Advice to Management

Hire qualified people. Pay employees over time. Design better on boarding for new hires. Transfer new hires to be paired with offices with experienced Patient Service Specialists. Supervisors should set the example and act in a professional manner "always" !
