I have been working at Novatel Wireless full-time

    Pros

-My team is great - Inseego/Novatel does a pretty good job of vetting devs.
    -Working remotely is an option
-If you have an idea for a project, leads/engineering management listen

    Cons

    -LOTS of legacy code
-Uppermanagement has been struggling for years to find the right direction. Hopefully Dan Mondor (CEO as of 2017) is finally getting the company on the right track.
-Middlemanagers don't seem to know what they're doing (not sure that's specific to Inseego though!)

    Advice to Management

-Actually learn the products you're selling.
-Put someone with RECENT tech knowledge in charge of the engineers (someone who coded 30 years ago isn't the best choice for guiding the teams on new tech and infrastructure choices)

    Cons

    weak on company culture development

    Advice to Management

Need more focus on company development roadmap

I worked at Novatel Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

As all the other reviews state, the people that work there are awesome. Benefits are above average.

    Cons

Summer of 2017 saw another new CEO, (Sue=5 starts). Mgmt seems disconnected from the engineers and technology in general. Very little work/life balance. Company is headed away from a SaaS company into a hardware company again. No merit increases either, which in a smaller company with no forward opportunities, one is stuck where you're at when you get hired.

    Advice to Management

Mgmt does not seem to be that technical, yet, they're trying to lead a technology company. There's a disconnect there.

I worked at Novatel Wireless full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great atmosphere to work. Wonderful co-workers and fun activities. The health and dental benefits are good. Oh, they really know how to do Halloween!

    Cons

The company has aspirations of growing, but not a real good idea of how to do it.

The part of the company I worked at in Eugene could have been a great money maker, but the application of the technology was poorly done and maintained. They needed to improve their testing regimen before releasing products especially their SasS.

I was recently laid off, I believe because of the bottom line, not because of any performance issues.

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent with your partners, too much secrecy. Don't hire employees before you have the money to pay them.

    Pros

Lack of experience in several crucial areas required for SaaS, can mean individuals with just cursory knowledge in their field, can be viewed as superstars.

    Cons

All jobs other than 3-5 senior executive positions are headed for South Africa within the next two years.

I work for the division being sold to TCL, and our new leadership recently confirmed what many of us had long suspected.

    Advice to Management

Stop reading employee emails to determine which employees are loyal and which employees will be part of the next round of layoffs.
