I worked at Novo Nordisk full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, pay and time-off. Very nice office building. There are still some good people and leaders, but they are exceptions and not the norm. If you're not lucky enough to get a good one - you're going to be very unhappy.

    Cons

Culture is eroded and not at all what is was 5+ years ago. Business performance was built on a scam of price increases and not actually selling products. Now that the jig is up, leadership - and everyone else - are panicking. Narrow focus in diabetes does not allow many opportunities for increased earnings. Other areas (hemophilia) are under-performing and outlook is not good. Diabetes is a saturated market and Novo is not a differentiated company. Layoffs of 500 US employees last fall and it seems that there are most certainly more to come. The company grew too fast, ruined the culture and the integrity of the US business. Leaders who were egomaniacal and wanted empires destroyed this company.

Hired many incompetent, unstable leaders who drove good employees out

    Advice to Management

Where there is smoke, there is fire. When you keep hearing someone is creating a hostile working environment or is otherwise incompetent - listen and act. Good people are leaving because they cannot work alongside those that remain.

I worked at Novo Nordisk full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Outstanding benefits, strong portfolio, robust pipeline

    Cons

Lots of organizational and cultural change in recent years has produced misdirection and mismanagement of resources and strategic direction

    Advice to Management

Back to basics - let sales people sell for the sake of performance, not checking the box on initiatives

I worked at Novo Nordisk full-time

    Pros

Salary, Bonus Plan, Benefits. Took their time to release products so had good data.

    Cons

Has gotten to be very big pharma. Leaders talk of being there for the patients but then the bottom line is pushed aggressively.

    Advice to Management

Actually come through with the talk of curing diabetes.
