    I worked at Novozymes full-time

    Pros

Fast paced environment, the day goes by quickly.

    Cons

No chance for advancement if you are not in the "in group". Too much nepotism at the Franklinton site.

    Advice to Management

Restructure production management based on personnel potential instead of relationships based outside of work

I have been working at Novozymes full-time

    Pros

Good internship opportunities but few turn internships turn into long-term hires. Occasional snacks!

    Cons

Few meaningful opportunities for employee development (promotions or additional responsibilities). Very high turnover of motivated or talented individuals--especially exceptional early to mid-career scientists. This is especially true in the United States. Those that stay >4 years generally become "intellectual dead weight" who "play the game" and "punch the clock". Thinking for yourself is not necessary (or desired by management): "drink the kool-aid" or you'll get marginalized (or fired). The managers hoard information from subordinates and (most) micromanage. Novozymes is beginning to adopt the ethical practices of it's Alliance Partner: Monsanto.

I worked at Novozymes full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good company benefits. Many great people working there.

    Cons

Several "reorganizations" in the last few years resulting in the layoffs of many, talented, long-serving employees.

    Advice to Management

Live the company values that you chose. Do not reorganize to get rid of aging employees. Heartbreaking for the employees who were terminated as well as the employees who are still there.

I have been working at Novozymes full-time

    Pros

401K plan, vacation time, flexible work time

Low pay, incompetent middle-level management, bad top management, favoritism. If you are a smart R&D scientist this place is not for you.

    Advice to Management

Treat the people the way you treat yourself. Think long-term before making decisions.

I have been working at Novozymes full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Used to have some really good people, P&O had gotten pretty good in the last few years. Seems like they just blew that up, so who do we go to with questions now? No one seems to know what they're supposed to do

    Cons

This used to be an international business, but it's a Danish business making money in the U.S. now.

    Advice to Management

Most XLT need to go, some of the wrong people just got fired!
