I worked at Now Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Quarterly bonus and some of the gifts they used to give out.

    Cons

Lack of leadership and no support for anyone in management. Working on the graveyard you do not have access to HR submit complaints. There has been 4 GMs and most of the time there wasn't one so management wasn't there to give any direction. Plus they have a "hold no one accountable" policy. They have major safety violations and when tried to tell management they either said it was none of our business, we will think about it or thanks. And after over a year nothing has been done. In the last 4 years the only thing they have done is what is called a near miss but overall all of the safety issues are still there. There was at least 4 people who have had their fingers caught is a conveyor chain system and luckily they didn't lose a finger but again told them how to prevent it and where to buy the safety device but was told again it's none of my business. As for health they don't care. I had a bulging disk and they were aware if it for over a year and I kept missing work because of it. I informed all of my managers and HR and in the end I got fired because of it. OSHA should investigate the accidents since the company has had quite a few of them before someone looses a hand or a 55 gall drum falls from the second floor and crushes someone since a person actually dropped 4 55 gallon drums full of oil and luckily on one was under them. And again no one was held accountable for it and no safety fences or devices were installed to prevent this from happening again.

    Advice to Management

Learn to manage people, they haven't had any good managers and Jim Emey is a joke he doesn't to anyone or the employees. I can't see how they are making any money unless someone is falsing the paperwork to make the company look good. A third party should investigate the books because a lot of things don't match up.

I have been working at Now Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    good benefits, really great people

    Cons

The company continues to turn record profits year after year, but continuing to cut the pay of the sales force. All commissions are based on growth, and it is at 0.25% of growth. Some divisions only get paid on quarterly growth Senior management continues to give themselves promotions and pay increases, while not paying anywhere near market rate. They are either on purpose, or by accident, pushing their top sales staff out the door, by refusing to recognize and pay properly. Additionally the "Best employer" awards that they tout are actually not objective awards, they are literally purchased.

    Advice to Management

Please cut back on the greed at the top levels. You aren't fooling anyone.

I worked at Now Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Learning environment. Community feeling. Ops to give back by voting on projects that many can get in on. Family feeling. Possibilities of transfers are there.

    Cons

Frequent changes in directives. Contradictory info. Low pay. Questioning authority in basic ways not allowed. When you get corrected, you really know it. Evaluations can be harsh to avoid salary increase.

    Advice to Management

Remember how much it costs to train current employees when factoring your equations. Consider developing existing employees.
