I worked at Nuance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Some good employees and co-workers.

    Cons

Terrible managers and lots of internal politics. The good managers don't stay long with the company. Tyrannical management style. If you are not part of the "klan", you are a outcast. There is no appreciation of what you do doesn't matter how hard you try.

    Advice to Management

Clean house and get rid of the managers who have no idea how to manage and motivate employees.

I worked at Nuance full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

OnDemand division works on very interesting projects with clients in many different industries.
Teams are always working cross-functionally so learning never stops, nor has boundaries in your own team.

    Cons

Executive management are trying to implement archaic practices, and the people that excel are the ones that don't suggest improvements, or modern advancements.

    Advice to Management

You pay our innovation teams well, because they are some of the best, perhaps you could listen to them about your own house.

I worked at Nuance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary, and the creative team was comprised of very talented people. Unfortunately when the creative team began to dwindle, so did the perks of being employed here.

    Cons

Very "corporate" would be the best way to put it. The team I was a part of was great, but the company culture as a whole was very stiff. Especially for being a tech company in Silicon Valley you'd expect more, but unfortunately that was not the case.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to take risks. The creative team would've brought Nuance to a whole new level but unfortunately upper management never allowed any idea to get off the ground.

The company offers good benefits, and also provide additional training to continue learning new skills. You get to work with some great people from all over the world.

    Cons

There is a lot of work, and not enough resources. Long hours of work is required to meet the project deadlines.

I have been working at Nuance full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are pockets of talented people at the company that have drive to move the company forward. When times get tough, some co-workers are proactive to listening and helping each other out. Nuance does allow people the flexibility to work remotely.

    Cons

While there are pockets of talented people who are also nice, the matrix organizational structure seems to hinder any acceleration forward in certain divisions. Career advancement at Nuance will be limited by lack of tenure as that is rewarded more than talent.

    Advice to Management

The HR department does a great job collecting employee surveys so empower them to help make changes for the better of the company.
