I worked at Nurse-Family Partnership full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Evidenced based work, allows meaningful relationships with clients. Flexible scheduling not

    Cons

Emotionally draining work, can be frustrating as there is a high client attrition rate. Also, it is a home visiting position so you have to be comfortable with that.

    Advice to Management

Remember that nurses can't control whether their clients are home for their visits. Also, try to give is patients that live in the same areas.

I have been working at Nurse-Family Partnership full-time

    Pros

This non-profit business makes a measurable social impact, so most employees feel good about the work they do. It is challenging and "NFP" is being widely recognized for success in healthcare, social, non-profit and government circles. Pay and benefits are quite good for a non-profit.

    Cons

Leadership doesn't have the confidence of most employees, as there is no understanding of a real strategy for long-term success. There are few ways to move up inside the organization.

    Advice to Management

Listent to the employees who work with customers -- they have a lot to tell you.

    Pros

I loved the work I did. Flexible at times

    Cons

The politics was to much and the pay was a joke. Overworked! It was quantity over quality.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees like they matter. Improve benefits and pay. The work that NFP does is so important but nurses will not stay not because of the work but because of the way they are treated.

I have been working at Nurse-Family Partnership full-time

    Pros

Nurse Family Partnership has a truly a great mission, a lot of good people work there with good intentions. The 401k benefit is amazing!

    Cons

The organization does not know how to function as a business, and the CEO makes working here unbearable. The organization cannot focus on what would lead to success.

    Advice to Management

Hire the right people, not the people who you think give you diversity. Let people do what they know how to do rather than thinking the CEO knows how everyone should be doing their job.
