I worked at Nutrisystem full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Have the opportunity to speak with many customers and help with there weight issue and health.
Very Good 2 week training program at their corporate office, thorough.
Well Known company, name recognition, makes easier to establish rapport with customers and make a sale

    Cons

Very rigid break schedule, 10 minute morning, 10 minute afternoon, 30 lunch

Customer service can override your sale and reduce or take your sale without notice, resulting in potential commission loss for no fault of your own.

Majority of incoming calls were to save or stop customers from cancelling their order or plans. Very little opportunity for new sales associates to earn projected commissions based on this set up. Veteran Sales Associates are given more sales calls and thus hard to compete.

    Advice to Management

The dialer should be a better mixture of potential new sales vs Saves or cancellations for new sales associates, need to learn and grow.
Customer service should not be able to take sales, offer discounts and free items that sales are not allowed too. Makes for unfair playing field, seems like a lack of integrity going on between departments. Not a level playing field.

I have been working at Nutrisystem full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job is simple yet overwhelming. A lot of overtime offered from Jan-April, PTO days, Night pay differential. Good temporary position until you find something else.

    Cons

As a weight loss counselor you're doing everyone's job and not getting paid enough. You take on the role as sales, retention, customer service, IT for Nutrisystem Numi app, weight loss counselor, and manager because managers encourage you to de-escalate calls by lying to customers saying they are unavailable since they never get on the phone. You start to feel depressed because you can not get two days off in a row so it feels like your life is nothing but work, management encourages shift swaps but coworkers usually do not want to switch. Besides the phone calls managers are constantly on your back about metrics/call lengths and surveys that cut off before the customer can take it. Customers are usually upset about false information they're given to join the program by sales reps and weight loss counselors are to hear the complaints when the problem could be resolved if sales reps were trained better. The breaks could also be a little longer since being on the phone is so exhausting, and raises are little to none.

    Advice to Management

Improve the company then maybe the turnover rate would not be so high

I have been working at Nutrisystem full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very pleasant employees and friendly clients on a day to day basis.

    Cons

Although dealing with clients on the phone back to back everyday (all day) can get exhausting, it doesn't help that management could care less. They never show appreciation for the hard work the employees put in. Instead they send us weekly scorecards showing what you need to improve on. For example, if you need to use the restroom and you're not on break, you're going to get a low score. If you show empathy and motivation on every single call, you get a low score. Being a counselor means you not only have to do all of this, but we also do customer service and sales... and we don't get paid for it! Work harder and do more, but there's nothing to show for it. This place wants you to either brown nose everyone to get a promotion or shut up and deal with it, to stay where you are at. The list goes on and on, but this place really has almost every employee at their wits end. On top of all that, you have to work weekends, so it really takes a toll on your personal life.

    Advice to Management

Please show some empathy, support and motivation to your employees if you expect them to do the same. It all starts from the top! And also advocate for us. We do everything from sales to customer service in counseling, yet we get no recognition. It's unfair.

I have been working at Nutrisystem full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Awesome incentives and some great people. Nutrisystem also helps you focus on your health & provides outlets to help you improve.

    Cons

Management is dishonest personal & lack a business mindset. With that being said they lack the ability to be consistent.

Nutrisystem also has angry aggressive customers who are racist. You have no support if you are being yelled & cursed at you may not disconnected the call you must sit there and the abuse.

I have never had to lie so much at my job because they don't provided you with all tools needed to perform my job. Which goes back to management communication isn't equal or consistent.

    Advice to Management

To be consistent detailed & honest

    Pros

    great earning potential. Great product.

    Cons

They will fire you very quickly. You will constantly walk on your toes. The management team will talk about you behind your back! There are two managers in particular that will get together is huddle talk about you as if you don't know! They will expect you work well in a hostile environment. The mangers two females in particular will play favoritism. They will act like your employment will continue if you perform better, but that's not the case.

    Advice to Management

Stop talking behind people behind their backs. Stop playing favoritism.

Employees believe in the company. Upper management seems genuine

    Cons

One of the most unprofessional environments I have ever been in. This place is like being in high school with its cliques. People will talk behind your back yet smile to your face. You are not judged on work ethic you are judged on how well your manager likes you personally if they don't watch out your character and work will be assassinated. In fairness not all departments are like this
