I worked at Nuvosun full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The technology is good, the flex module design is nice if the efficiency was better. Friendly employees/ Process and tools built in house, lots of software issues, not robust

    Cons

Management not professional, keeps employees that part take in illegal activities, such at marijuana. Pay is below average. Bad safety record. Whistle blowers are punished.

    Advice to Management

Give random drug test to your employees unless you lend a blind eye to this situation. Pay your employees better. Employees have great idea not realized by management.

    I worked at Nuvosun full-time

    Pros

Laid back (most of the time), flexibility to leave work during the day sometimes, high tech manufacturing, don't have to work weekends

    Cons

Selenium smells really bad and results in sinus issues (Selenium ingestion has also been known to cause lackadaisical behaviour), not even an ammonia detector on the floor (I found out they're relatively cheap after leaving), Cadmium sulfide everywhere. Pay is below average for similar jobs (typical in the solar industry) and there's no money for perks like good coffee, snacks, etc that come with many hip silicon valley companies, and should come standard at every company in my opinion, Milpitas is not a good area to reside in compared with other cities. The factory is near the landfill and sometimes when the wind is blowing the right way, it smells like rotten garbage all day. Right next to the freeway, so car pollution is ample in and around the building. Not really much nature to speak of nearby, it's mostly parking lots to walk around. Meetings tend to be mostly worthless and a waste of time (like most big companies I imagine). No opportunity to own part of the company, in fact, there wasn't even a employee share purchasing program like there is at most big companies. Sign your IP away for an average paycheck. Poor planning and design of experiments, sometimes people can be asked to stay late at the last second of the day (at least give 8 hours warning, sheesh).

    Advice to Management

Get some better PLC programmers and automate simple things like basic process control. It's ridiculous you have people turning knobs by hand when we have powerful computers at our disposal. Invest more in IT and hire someone to make a decent data system that everyone can access directly easily. The lack of easy data access to every employee will kill this venture.
