    Pros

    nice office, decent pay, most employees can work with, ok culture, novel product line, great to see patients benefiting from equipment...

    Cons

    very reactive vs. proactive. A lot of "we need this today" at 4:49PM. Competition coming to market- job stability over next few years is uncertain. Stifled by some management that are stuck in outdated ways of doing business.

    Advice to Management

    stop talking so much and start listening to employees - they are your best resource!

    Pros

    A great product. Passionate, smart employees.

    Cons

    Highly political senior management team. CEO has his favorites. A few senior team members can be condescending and nasty.

    Advice to Management

    Your management team should reflect the behaviors that you want to see in the rest of the employee base.

    I worked at NxStage full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Relatively flexible hours, good pay, beautiful facility, good effort in trying to "rally the troops" to change renal care.

    Cons

    Complacent engineering management, no true direction or project management leaves engineers and projects running in circles and wasting huge amounts of time and money.

    Advice to Management

    Just because someone has been at the company since the beginning doesn't make them a good manager. Re-assess project management and lead engineers if you really want to get the next level projects moving.

    Pros

    Nice environment, easy commute, 90% pleasant people, cool perks to work here.

    Cons

    Some people can be rude and condescending. The job can be hectic enough without being spoken to like your a child. One bad apple will ruin the bunch.

    Advice to Management

    You know who the problem is. Do something about it.

    Pros

    Great company culture and personable employees
    A very great company for a learning experience for interns and co-ops

    Cons

    As an intern, really only interact and work with the department you are working for

    Pros

    The product is a life changer for patients. It's rewarding listening to the patients. Benefits are good, vacation time, holidays, sick time and medical.

    Cons

    So of the management lead by intimidation. It doesn't matter if you're doing your job or not it makes them feel superior. HR doesn't stand with the employees, going to HR for help is signing your unemployment papers.

    Advice to Management

    Look at the work employees are doing. Thank them for a job well done. Keep your good and loyal employees instead of the do whatever the manager says with no questions asked employees. Sometimes the little guy has a big idea.

    I worked at NxStage as a contractor (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The work is very worthwhile. The company does great things for patients lives.. The employee benefits are great and the ability to work from home when needed is helpful.

    Cons

    Loyalty is not appreciated by management. Some people do very little work yet are praised, yet all they do is kiss the right butts. There are a few managers that manage by intimidation.

    Advice to Management

    Management should look closer at which employees are truly loyal. They have lost a number of employees that wanted only the best for NsStage and the patients.

    Great product and chief leadership. Innovation and product lines are very exciting.

    Mid management team need to be more hands on and leaner.

    I worked at NxStage as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Decent product testing experience, people were pretty great. Could make my own work schedule.

    Cons

    There wasn't enough work to be done a lot of the time, so the other intern and I on the disposables team were constantly staring at the computer screen pretending to be busy. When we asked for more work, our boss told us to "keep doing what we were doing." The location was less than desirable.
