I have been working at O'Neil & Associates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits have improved over the last year with better insurance, 401 (k), and a stock option plan. Vacation time is good and rolls over - these are all really good benefits to me. I enjoy going to work every day, the office is nice and the people are pleasant. There are pretty flexible hours and they work with you on what you need.

    Cons

Some managers have been with the company for a very long time and they could use some new blood in upper management.

    Advice to Management

hire outside talent in upper management at some time to get new blood in the company.

    I worked at O'Neil & Associates full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flex working hours. ESOP program. Nice coworkers.

    Cons

Low pay. Last minute mandatory overtime. Management does not care about employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees better and pay them what they deserve.

    I worked at O'Neil & Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits packages well-explained. Employer-owner benefits are generous despite requiring 6 years to become vested.

    Cons

Poor HR department, unclear business process for certain job titles. Healthcare package is also poor. Satellite offices receive little support.

    Advice to Management

Improve HR communication. Complaints often go unanswered.

    I have been working at O'Neil & Associates full-time

    Pros

Flex time but you get in trouble for using it. Nothing really else.

    Cons

Poor management, short sighted leadership, no direction, the CEO/President and Board of Directors have no clue, ramp up and then laying off, the sales team sucks (wait there is a sales team??), no ERP, paper timesheets, half baked internal applications to forecast the future (a crystal ball might do better0, underpaid, nepotism at it's finest, are we in high school?, sell products that don't exist to customers, good old boys club, ESOP (Employee Owned) with no information other than Red/Yellow/Green given to the employees on overall company performance, employees are believed to be stupid, and I think that about does it for now.

And how come one month we are doing great and another you are doing layoffs?

If you need your foot in the door somewhere, it is a job. But don't stay more than a couple years otherwise you have wasted your time and talent.

    Advice to Management

Quit and go back to school. Some leadership BS at UD does no good. Most of the directors should be fired or stripped of any power. How many layoffs have you had in the last 20 years? I lost count. Thank God I left.

I worked at O'Neil & Associates (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is pretty good, and the work environment is decent. They have a nice building in Miamisburg. Benefits are so-so.

    Cons

Management is dysfunctional at best. They cannot make timely decisions and do not work and play well with other staff members. The whole place is very clique-y and political. If you are liked by management, you'll do well. BEWARE if you cross them, or speak an unpopular opinion.

    Advice to Management

Treat people as colleagues instead of commodities, and improve your decision making process. Learn to delegate and trust that your employees are as invested in the success of your company as you are.

    Pros

The people at ONEIL make it a good place to work. The friendships I have there will last a lifetime.

    Cons

The company is poorly managed, and it seem the owners are no longer interested in building a good company - just about the bottom line.

    Advice to Management

Refocus on the individual contributors. Pay attention to who is performing and who is not, and get rid of people who are wasting company time and resources.
