I have been working at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Great company to work for. O’Reilly has a very strong culture that has survived unscathed through many years of growth. They have a very strong promote from within philosophy and allow management to really take ownership. Corporate leadership roles feel more like a support system instead of the dreaded entity they always are in most larger corporations. Lots of incentives for pay and the ability to increase your own commission...

    Cons

Long hours, aggressive sales goals/expectations. lower base pay for most entry levels sometimes making it hard to find/keep people.

    Advice to Management

If you’re willing to roll your sleeves up and put in an honest days work and are passionate about leading, than this is the company for you. Long hours will be a guarantee but so are promotions.

I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time for more than a year

    Pros

My manager was one of the best I've had to work with! Expanding knowledge of current AUTOMOTIVE products. Comprehensive daily training modules, opportunities to improve your understanding of products and skills with retail sales. Great teammates! Satisfaction of helping grateful people!

    Cons

Know-it-all customers. Majority customers are upset about their part failures and they're just not pleasant humans to deal with. Some pressure to maintain sales quotas. RSS position required to make sales calls to related surrounding repair shops. Overwhelming morning paperwork.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be involved in individual training. Remove sales pressure to not discourage customer repeat business. Spread workload & Responsibility more fairly.
