I worked at O'Reilly Auto Parts full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are great to work with.

    Cons

Little to no room advancement. They could pay a couple dollars more, especially for their physically demanding jobs. The biggest complaint I have is that I was fired for being late two days this last month, and by only a couple minutes, due to inclement weather. I can't control the weather and I let them know ahead of time that I was gonna be late. I even stayed an extra 15-20 minutes at the end of the day to make up for the late arrivals. But they didn't care. I was in the top 5 for productivity almost every week. So it baffles me that they would fire someone who works hard and was late a couple minutes due to some bad weather.

    Advice to Management

Figure out your priorities. Don't fire hardworking people because of stupid things. There is a reason your turn over rate is so high and a lot of people don't like working there.

Very easy going, and fun atmosphere to work in. I like all the people I work with

    Cons

Sometimes a little redundant. Can be boring but it comes and goes. You need to know a bit about car parts to help customers

I have been working at O'Reilly Auto Parts part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a pretty decent place to work at if you're a college student barely starting out. The schedules are made by the manager instead of made by corporate so it can be very flexible. You learn a lot and you get to meet all kinds of people every day. If you don't have any mechanic or vehicle knowledge then you will learn pretty quickly.

    Cons

The only few gripes I have about working here is the pay just isn't enough for all the responsibilities that you are tasked with. Also, there are a few management figures that make you wonder how they even got their position.

    Advice to Management

My honest advice? Find a better way to assess how well a person would be in their management position.

    Pros

Respectful employees that try to help when possible and try to help you understand the systems.

    Cons

Most of the time there are a few that have attitude problems with the others and get angry at team members.

    Advice to Management

Be more careful with who you hire. Someone could be acting to get the job and then turn around and be a bad representative of your company.

I have been working at O'Reilly Auto Parts (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work culture. Most of the employees are great people to work with. Everyone is willing to help.

Managers are mostly willing to work around your schedule. If you have school, appointments, or anything that you need to do, they will make sure you are able to do that.

    Cons

Weird combination of up-to-date and incredibly outdated computer systems. My store only got thermal receipt printers a couple of months ago, and we still print most invoices from a dot matrix printer.

    Advice to Management

Work on updating the stores hardware.

And give us some security cameras. Seriously, a one time investment of a few hundred bucks to save thousands? You guys should be drooling over the thought of that, but instead I hear daily about parts disappearing from the shelves.
