I have been working at O’Rourke Engineering full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -Good work place.
    -Nice people
    -Great VP's
    -Good leadership,
    -Excellent Engineering PM's

    Cons

After ownership change, company is not doing well, more politics
-poor standards among different drafting leads
-alot of politics with drafting leads hiring family members otherwise this would get a 3 1/2 star rating
-Observed unfair workloads with the forementioned
    -Nasty politics after change over
    -HR Generalist is not qualified.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire Drafting LEADS that refer family members, conflict of interest. This should be a policy with HR. Leads that refer family members is already a conflict of interest. Some "family referred" should never be allowed to this company. Many people have and will leave because of these individuals. These people are hurting the business.

Business is business with the people. Its about profits, and its not ALL about profits. Take care of your loyal people and your loyal people will take care of you.

I have been working at O’Rourke Engineering full-time

    Pros

Owners are still very hands on.

    Cons

Management generally not interested in others. Senior managers always looking for the next big star of the company. A good company to start with and then the bully's get you in the play ground.

    Advice to Management

Try to care more about others careers.

I have been working at O’Rourke Engineering as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good working environment and challenging projects. A good way to start your career as an engineer because you get hands on experience.

    Cons

Long hours on site. Not a good balance of time between working on site and in the office.

    Advice to Management

    More rotation to new recruits

    Recommends

    Pros

As a project engineer, you are involved with projects from start to finish, giving you a good overall picture.

    Cons

As with any company, you are limited to leadership's expertise. Perfect however for those who want to work in oil and gas only.

    Advice to Management

    keep up the good work
