Great People, Great Growth
Oct 12, 2020 - Communications in Omaha, NERecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
+ A fantastic group of people, personally and professionally. Very talented, driven, and team-oriented. + A CEO committed to growth and genuinely interested in hearing feedback from her team; same goes for all of leadership. + Great growth of services and clients over the past few years, with a strategic vision for the future. + A research and data-driven approach, which is crucial in today's marketplace to deliver client results. Not sure where some of the previous reviews are coming from re: delivering results; there is ample, ample data to support growth for OBI's clients. Some barriers exist but are often client/organization-driven.
Cons
Agency life is not for everyone, and that seems very evident from the other reviews (which seem clearly written by a few people who couldn't keep pace with the workflow). Along with the variety of work and fast pace, you'll experience quick deadlines, clients that will ask for more or want to go a different way than you'd recommend, and other challenges. That being said, it's a great place to do some really interesting work, and the more value that you add, the more you'll be recognized for your contribution.

Pros
Cool, modern new space. People are generally nice and diverse in terms of age and experience.
Cons
Lots of people lost their jobs due to lack of foresight (their own admission) by the management team. I should have seen some red flags when half a company of around 45 people had worked there less than a year. There was a very tense vibe among new hires. No one felt their jobs were safe. It's a job, and a below average one at that. The building is cool, but don't let it fool you. The company itself has as much energy as Initech in the movie Office Space. If you're young or just out of college and looking for a cool, fun place to work, look elsewhere. This place is DEFINITELY not it.

An agency that will not challenge you, but the people are for the most part are okay.

Show up and do your work. Every two weeks you get a paycheck.
Cons
Aloof account directors create more work for everyone by not knowing requirements or goals of projects. Clueless project managers who ask for non-existent deliveables. Persnickety creative directors who cannot show results for projects. Art directors constantly late delivering projects Social media team that has zero engagement on their own brand. Management changes directions chasing the bright new thing every six months.
