I have been working at OIG as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great experience; high personal growth; extensive background check which looks great on resume; great people. The leave policy of the government is amazing. They were very flexible on my working hours since I am also a full time student.

    Cons

No insurance but that's typical of any internship. There wasn't a whole lot of room for future advancement for me because I do not desire to one day be a special agent.

    Advice to Management

I loved my experience so I really do not have any advice that needs to go to management. The work is not difficult and yet it is different every day.

I worked at OIG part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked at Brandeis University part-time (More than a year). Great opportunity for undergraduates who want a part-time job that is productive for their majors.

    Cons

None really, any of the problems I had with the job were not created by management, but my facilities and public safety, who were very uncooperative at times.

    Advice to Management

Try and keep facilities, public safety, and other departments abreast of new developments so there isn't confusion when one occurs. Preventing a problem is easier than fixing one.

    Pros

Great pay, better than almost all major accounting firms, health insurance benefits are top notch. Also 4 week + vacation time a year and you can accrue it. If you do good work you can become a manager very easily, very little competition.

    Cons

Once you put in 3 or more years, you get trapped and can rarely make a transition to the private sector when you can follow your dream to be a partner, which almost never happens.

    Advice to Management

    none needed
