I worked at OM Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The office and management staff were very professional and respectful. It was a pleasure to work with them. Highly recommend this company.

    Cons

The hours were limited. There was not often enough work to keep me busy for a long period of time.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, but keep your staff busy. Improve the office atmosphere a little and consider getting new computers.

I worked at OM Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits structure at first- this changed unexpectedly when the company was bought out.

    Cons

Poor management. One hand doesn't know what the other is doing. Horrible atmosphere, which became worse after the sell. Very little training or management accountability.

    Advice to Management

    Good luck!

I have been working at OM Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work atmosphere is relaxed, helpful co-workers, option to buy extra vacation, time off between Christmas and New Years.

    Cons

Management set financial goals based on wishful thinking instead of historic or industry predictions for growth. They bought companies and put people in charge that had no previous experience in those industries.

They are a homeopathic community and produce a lot of remedy. If you are a person that believe homeopathy maybe you like their company. But I really don't believe homeopathy and I think it is just water and alcohol in most of their product!

    Cons

    Their work condition is strange!
in the winter you will frieze inside the building, they don't have heater!

    Pros

Pay for play/performance with real accountability to tangible, specified, agreed upon objective . Independence with freedom to set own work and travel schedule.

    Cons

Closed door management style, lacking any degree of leadership, counsel and/or training. No inclusion to (until last minute supportive report due) and poor dissemination of corporate strategy

    Advice to Management

Open your doors and open your eyes. Include field and upper mid-level management in brainstorming sessions. Provide training, guidance and tools necessary for the associates to succeed.
