    Pros

Great people. Everyone is down to earth and friendly. Supportive working culture with initiatives such as 'work smarter not harder' to discourage long working hours but increased productivity.

    Cons

Team structure at the time wasn't ideal but they have no restructured the whole company.

    Cons

Not specific to OMD, but ad agency culture in general - long hours are expected and become a way of life.

    Pros

Pro - Good benefits, time off, vacation. Great clients.

    Cons

Con - Male Management won't let women employees take their time off for doctor appointments and vacation time. Management only care about getting credit for other employees (more creative, talented) hard work along with pocketing your bonus and salary increase. Freelancers get cheated out of hard earned wages and don't received their pay in a timely manner along with their vendors. Employees work extremely long hours 10+ on a regular weekly basis and work on weekends without gratitude or compensation. Low pay with no raise and no vacation time (4 yr employee).

It can be a great place to be but not for all

Aug 19, 2020 - Director in London, England
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Exciting blue chip clients, some talented people, opportunities to learn. Your experience would be entirely dependant on your specific team as well as clients. Hours aren't long if you are honest with your timesheets and communicate with line managers to shift things around. Generally decent culture with plenty of talented young people.

    Cons

The size of the agency (and group) means too much bureaucracy, endless agency politics as well as a few bad apples. Pay not great at junior levels.

    Avoid at ALL costs

Mar 7, 2020 - Marketing Science Supervisor in Los Angeles, CA

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    Summer Fridays, 5 each summer

    Cons

It was the worst experience of my career. I was treated with zero respect and people talk to me any type of way with no support from management. My manager was incompetent and acted like he was busy all of the time to stay far away from the day to day responsibilities. I told my manager about poor treatment from a Director and he told me that the Director was just passionate about client relationships. Analytics Leadership at the LA office only care about what Directors and above say and don't take anyone else seriously. There has been massive turnover on the WF MarSci team and HR has failed to step in to figure out what's going on. Everyone that's left has been on the team less than a year. MarSci leadership does not care about the turnover and said its 'not such a bad thing when people leave.' Additionally, the client is constantly cutting budget and the future of the account is uncertain. Layoffs are bound to happen. There's a lot of tension between MarSci and Strategy that makes it more of a competitive environment rather than an unified environment. People on the Strategy team constantly throw people from MarSci under the bus to leadership and will smile in your face like it's nothing. People on the MarSci team will also throw you under the bus like its nothing. Everyone is for themself and does not like to take ownership of responsibilities. Overall, the WF team is a very 'Boys Club' environment. Women on the team are talked to with zero respect and often belittled, especially if you are a minority. It's a very unorganized team with no clear processes. You have to watch your back because you never know who is against you. The hours are very long and leadership is not appreciative of all the time you put in. Would not recommending joining OMD LA. You will regret it later.
