    Cons

The plant shut down production for overall company strategic reasons. Now there are only a few workers at this location. The others had to find new jobs.

    Pros

A lot of opportunity to make a ton of money because of the availability of overtime. For the most part, great people to work with. Health benny's pretty good, money pretty good, 401k.

    Cons

Management very hard to please. Going thru a lot of changes but your efforts are not appreciated. Old rule of thumb here "My way or the highway". You ask a question or try something different, you are automatically labeled as being negative. Fear in the work place is NOT healthy. Corporate HR visits from time to time but does not interact with the people on the floor. Dragging your lieutenants thru the mud is not a good way to improve their confidence or production. This company always had oppurtunities to move up/promotions but it has changed now. They will use you to do the job but they will not hire you for the job because you do not have a degree. If they are good enough to fill in (sometimes for years), they should be good enough to have the job then.

    Advice to Management

Remove fear in the work place. Hostility is high & morale is low. Be thankful for the guys that grind for you on a daily basis. You know thoroughbreds are hard to come by, embrace them instead of alienate them.

I have been working at OMNOVA Solutions full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Commitment to safety, good pay and benefits, overall a pretty good working environment, coworkers are friendly and eager to help, my input and opinions seem valued, opportunities available for training, variety of daily tasks, ambitious

    Cons

Recent and current restructuring has created a somewhat unstable and volatile outlook, doesn't have a workforce in place to handle all of the new projects being aimed for (general need for new hires as well as replacing those who retired/were terminated/quit), technology is a bit outdated

    Advice to Management

Hire additional people to spread the current workload and be available for new projects being sought after.
